IRICHELLE Duran, daughter of legendary fighter Roberto Duran, was forced again to postpone her professional boxing debut. Duran withdrew from Friday night’s boxing bill, headlined by Zolani Petelo’s fifth defence of his IBF straw-weight world title against Mickey Cantwell in Kent because of illness. On a visit to South Africa last week to see her brother Roberto Duran junior make his professional debut at Carnival City, Miss Duran said she was getting agitated with all the postponements and just wanted to get into the ring. She was originally scheduled to make her South African debut on the May 24 Carnival City bill. It was however cancelled as legislation legalising professional boxing has not yet gone through. Her promoters, South African based Golden Gloves, are trying to schedule Duran for a fight in the United States in June.
