PATRIOTIC Army of Rwanda and Tusker of Kenya had contrasting passages to the East and Central Africa club championship final in Kigali this weekend. While the Rwandans battled to overcome SC Villa of Uganda 2-1 in the first semi-final at a packed Amahoro Stadium, Tusker coasted to a 3-1 victory over Mukura Victory of Rwanda. The final will be a repeat of the opening match of the annual tournament, which ended goalless, and the third-place play-off is another rematch as Mukura defeated Villa 1-0 in the mini-league stage. Patriotic Army will lack influential midfielders Jean-Marie Mbuyi and Djuma Massudi in the decider as they were cautioned for the second time in the event against Villa and are automatically suspended for one match.
