PRESIDENTIAL spokesman Parks Mankahlana’s former lover agreed at the weekend to undergo paternity testing to prove that the high-profile political figure is the father of her eight-year-old son. Mankahlana denied last week that he fathered any children with Thalitha Mthethwa, and dismissed his absence from a maintenance court hearing near Nelspruit, at Kabokweni, on a legal misunderstanding. The Kabokweni Magistrate’s Court has issued a warrant for Mankahlana’s arrest on contempt of court charges. Speaking from her home in KaNyamazane, near Nelspruit in Mpumalanga, she said the first time she heard Mankahlana’s demands for a paternity test was on Wednesday after he failed to appear in a maintenance court in nearby Kabokweni. “We can even do it today, as long as the results aren’t tampered with,” she said. “The child is his. My kid also deserves to know who his father is.” The warrant for Mankahlana’s arrest has been posted to police in Pretoria.
