COPS SEIZE HASH WORTH R1-MILLION

A TRUCK driver was arrested at the Middelburg toll gate in Mpumalanga with hashish worth over R1 million on Tuesday night. The man, aged between 36 and 45, was arrested at about 10pm when members of the Middelburg branch of South African Narcotics Bureau, Sanab, reacted to a tip-off. Highveld police spokesman Captain Malcolm Mokomene said on Wednesday Sanab members were told the truck driver was carrying hashish, or concentrated dagga. Mokomene said the driver, a South African, was travelling from Mozambique to Gauteng. ”We don’t yet know where exactly he was going to and we are still investigating,” he said. The man has not appeared in court yet.
