AIDS TEST SPARKS FAMILY KILLING

A SOWETO high school teacher has shot his wife and mother-in-law dead and critically wounded his father-in-law before turning the gun on himself, apparently after discovering he was HIV-positive. A neighbour said Singer Motloung walked into his Meadowlands house, pulled out a gun and shot his wife, Mpho Motloung. Mrs Motloung’s mother, Winkie Molorane, was found dead in the kitchen with a single gunshot wound to the head, and her father, Richard Sekorobelo, is in critical condition in hospital with a gun shot wound to the face. Motloung’s body was found in the bedroom with a gunshot wound in the head. Police said a note written on brown paper, that read “HIV Positive Aids”, was found on top of Motloung’s body. A relative said the couple had gone for an HIV test two weeks ago, and she suspected that the test was positive. She speculated that Motloung had blamed his wife for contracting the virus.
