DRC TO DISCUSS OBSERVER MISSION

THE Democratic Republic of Congo has agreed to resume talks on a United Nations observer mission to monitor a ceasefire in the war-torn nation, says South African President Thabo Mbeki. Speaking at the close of a one-day summit in Maputo, Mbeki said the DRC government had agreed to cooperate and resolve outstanding issues which have stalled the UN mission, since it was approved by the UN Security Council in February. – AFP
