TERRE?BLANCHE BEGINS JAIL TERM

HARD-line South African neo-Nazi leader Eugene Terre?Blanche has begun a six-year jail sentence for attempted murder, but told reporters he would ”be back.” Young white supporters sang an apartheid anthem and a crowd of blacks jeered as Terre?Blanche, wearing his trademark khaki shirt and trousers, arrived at a magistrate?s court in Potchefstroom. A court last week upheld Terre?Blanche’s 1997 conviction for attempted murder for a 1996 attack which left his victim brain-damaged. He served six months of a one-year sentence last year for a separate assault on a black man. – Reuters
