THE International Monetary Fund has approved a loan of $26m for Tanzania as well as $17m in additional debt relief assistance. The loan is part of a three-year facility aimed at reducing poverty and spurring growth in the east African nation that was approved by the IMF in March 2000 in the amount of $174m. So far, about $51m has been disbursed. – AFP
