TWO Englishmen began a 64_000 km journey on foot across four continents, expected to take seven years, from Cape Point in South Africa on Tuesday, local television reported. The adventurers, James Tremayne and David Thompson, intend to follow the trail by the humans who inhabited southern Africa 120_000 years ago and migrated across the world. The first leg of their journey will take them through Africa and then they will travel across the Near and Middle East, Siberia and on to the Bering Straits. From there they will walk through North, Central and South America, ending their marathon journey at Cape Horn, at the tip of South America, in August 2008. Tremayne and Thompson will raise funds for a charity called Survival International during their expedition. Their trip can be followed on the Internet. – AFP
