RESCUERS recovered seven bodies on Friday from the port of Goma, in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, a day after a ship sank there, bringing the death toll from the accident to 12. Goma, which is in the hands of rebels, has no rescue or fire service, but workers resumed their search for survivors early on Friday, fearing that around 100 missing people were killed in the accident. “There are still a lot of bodies stuck in the hull,” rebel leader Moise Nyarugabo said in a radio interview. – AFP
