POLICE in Burkina Faso have rescued 23 children from seven traffickers who planned to sell them to cotton farmers in neighbouring Benin. Thee children, aged between eight and 10, were intercepted on Sunday when they were taken to Mandjoary near the border with Benin by seven people, said local police. The accused told the police that the children were headed for work on cotton plantations in Benin. The alleged traffickers had been promised 60_000 CFA francs per child. – AFP
