SECURITY COUNCIL TO DISSECT DRC WAR

TWELVE UN Security Council envoys flew into South Africa on Wednesday on the first leg of a 10-nation tour to speed up moves to end the multi-nation war in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The team, headed by French UN Ambassador Jean-David Levitte, is due to meet with the heads of state of the countries involved in the war, and with rebel leaders. They will hold talks in Kinshasa on Friday with 29-year-old President Joseph Kabila, who has revived the peace process since succeeding his assassinated father, Laurent Kabila, in January.
