SOUTH African Airways (SAA) will resume scheduled flights between Johannesburg, Lagos and New York on Wednesday, the airline announced on Tuesday. This is because “the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos now meets (US) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) security requirements,” it said in a statement. The statement said that SAA flights from Johannesburg to Atlanta, Georgia, would no longer stop in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, due to revised FAA restrictions. “These flights will now operate via Ilha do Sal (in Cape Verde) and all passengers will disembark in Atlanta,” it said. The airline also announced the reinstatement of cargo services between South Africa and the United States. – AFP
