NNP PUTS IT’S BEST MEN FORWARD

THE New National Party on Tuesday night announced its working group which is to talk to the African National Congress about possible co-operation. This follows the NNP’s decision to leave the Democratic Alliance in which its main partner was the Democratic Party. NNP representative Riaan Aucamp said the party’s team comprised its leader, Marthinus van Schalkwyk, Western Cape premier and NNP provincial leader Gerald Morkel, executive director Renier Schoeman and senior MP Cobus Dowry. Its legal advisers were Dirk Bakker, MP, and Piet Matthee, the party’s leader in the National Council of Provinces. The secretary was Daryl Swanepoel, NNP deputy executive director. Dowry and Bakker are both party whips. ANC representative could not be reached on Tuesday night, but a source said he believed its team may be announced on Wednesday. – Sapa
