SIX Upington men, aged between 24 and 66, are to appear in the town’s magistrate’s court on Monday on charges of raping and indecently assaulting a nine-month-old girl in Louisvale. Piet van Rooi (39) Jan Mienies (45) John Radebi (24) Frans Mosterd (28) Jan van Wyk (66) and Job Freeman (32) were arrested in October after the child’s grandmother found the girl covered in blood. The girl’s 16-year-old mother had gone to buy food and left her in the care of another person when the incident happened. She suffered injuries to her anus and rectum during her ordeal. – Sapa
