Audi A4 2.4 manual, R226 810 Audi Quattro, R280 460
The second half of Audi’s new A4 range has arrived. In addition to four cylinder petrol and diesel versions there are now 2.4 and three litre V6 versions. All front wheel drive Audis with the exception, for now, of the 1.9 TDi are now available with the company’s brand new Multitronic gearbox.
The three litre A4 is available in a variety of guises. The four-wheel- drive Quattro version can be acquired with a six-speed manual or five-speed Tiptronic auto transmission, while the front-wheel-drive offering comes with Multitronic or a five-speed manual gearbox. The 2976cc five-valve engine produces 162kW and 300Nm, and pulls the front-wheel-drive A4 to 100kph in 6,9 seconds, with a top speed of 245kph.
The smaller 2393cc V6 used in the A4 2.4 generates 125kW and 230Nm, and the 0-100km/hr dash takes a claimed 8,8 seconds (8,9 Multitronic). Top speed is claimed to be 228 and 222kph respectively, for the five speed manual and Multitronic versions.
Pricing on the new six cylinder models ranges from R226 810 for the A4 2.4 manual, to R280 460 for the Quattro version.
