Investing in the Future Awards 2002

Investing in the Future was started by the Mail & Guardian 12 years ago to laud the time, money and effort corporate South Africa continues to channel into an impressive range of social-investment programmes. The awards are given to organisations that demonstrate commitment to social responsibility on a sustainable basis.

Oddly enough, corporate South Africa has tended to be shy about publicising its efforts in the arena of corporate social investment (CSI). That is changing. With the globalisation of South Africa’s economy ? and of its companies, which are increasingly expanding outside the country’s borders ? CSI is coming to be seen less as a conscience-saving sop and more as a part of doing business.

All entries will be judged by a panel of CSI experts to create a shortlist.

These enteries will then be given to the panel of judges, who will meet and make their decisions. The award winners will be announced at a function in October.
