A 35-year-old man was arrested at his home in Centurion on Tuesday for the murder of Beatrix Alexander Harrowyn who was hacked to death in November last year, West Rand police said. Harrowyn (47) an interior decorator of Morningside, Johannesburg, went missing on November 19 last year. Her naked, washed body was found alongside the R28 on November 23. She had sustained severe head injuries. Captain Paula Nothnagel on Wednesday said police had been shocked by the murder, one of the most brutal killings seen on the West Rand in recent years. On his arrest, the man pointed out to police an axe which he allegedly used to commit the murder, Nothnagel said. – Sapa
