PRINCE Andrew the Duke of York will visit South Africa for four days next week to promote trade relations between Britain and South Africa, the British consulate-general said on Thursday. Consulate representative Sue Charlton said that the Duke along with Deputy Trade and Industry Minister Lindiwe Hendricks would re-launch the consulate-general in Johannesburg as British Trade and Investment in South Africa at a reception on Wednesday evening. The Duke’s other engagements include the opening of the media and public affairs office at the British High Commission in Pretoria on Tuesday afternoon, and a meeting with Reserve Bank governor Tito Mboweni in Johannesburg at 8.30am on Wednesday. Prince Andrew will meet former president Nelson Mandela at Mandela’s Houghton, Johannesburg, home at 10am on Wednesday, and then attend the Candle of Light project at the Eastgate shopping centre. -Sapa
