TWO men were arrested on Thursday after police discovered a dagga field with 10 000 plants valued at R300 000 in a rural homestead at Tsomo, Queenstown hours earlier, Eastern Cape police said. Sergeant Namhla Mdleleni said the two men, aged 27 and 30, were arrested following a tip-off from the community. ”One kilogram of dagga seeds and 50 kilograms of reaped dagga were also found on the plot,” she said. The two men will appear in the Tsomo Magistrate’s Court on Friday. Mdleleni said the dagga would be destroyed once the court case was finalised. – Sapa
