A SEVEN-year-old girl and two policemen were injured in a shoot-out in Soweto with a suspected robber on Sunday. Superintendent Richard Luvhengo said the two policemen arrested a robbery suspect in White City in Soweto. The man then took the police to another suspect’s house in the same area. At the house, the second suspect tried to escape. Two policemen went to the back door of the house where a man, armed with two firearms, opened fire. ”One sergeant was caught by a bullet in the left thigh and the right side of his stomach. The other policeman was hit in his knee.” Luvhengo said it was not clear how the seven-year-old girl got caught in the crossfire but she was slightly injured. – Sapa
