Results of trials to be released

Sigi Visser, one of the co-founders of the alleged anti-Aids drug, says that ”major developments” will be announced in a matter of weeks.

”We are preparing to announce the results from the clinical trials conducted in Tanzania. Those trials have shown Virodene to be safe and effective. We are arranging a press conference where we will have a panel of top scientists to answer questions.”

He said the trials had been conducted by independent researchers: ”We’re confident we have a product, we’re confident it’s safe, we’re confident it works.”

However Visser’s plans could be under threat from a welter of claims from creditors who have not been paid, many of whom were contracted as part of the Tanzanian study.

They are believed to include the company Quintiles Clindata, which analysed the data from the Tanzanian study, and Legosec International, a company which had a three-year R3,5-million contract to provide security services to both Sigi and Olga Visser.
