Rogers to focus on M&G readers

Gary Rogers has joined the Mail & Guardian as director of sales and marketing. Rogers is a former deputy general manager: Sunday Times, Financial Mail and Business Day. His career, which has focused on sales, has also included stints as sales and marketing manager for the Sunday Times and general manager (sales) of Times Media Ltd’s magagine division.

Rogers said he would be engaged in selling an audience to advertisers. The M&G was targeted at “the future generations of gutsy, fearless, independent and outspoken intellects.

“We are a niche publication and among the smallest in South Africa. But the M&G’s strength is its audience, and advertisers need to know more about this audience,” Rogers said.
