Mark Andrews to quit SA rugby

The Springbok and Sharks lock has quit South African rugby and is likely to play overseas, the Business Day newspaper reported on Wednesday.

According to the report, Andrews informed Springbok coach Rudolf Straueli of his decision on Tuesday. The second most capped Springbok of all time has played 77 tests in the green and gold jersey.

Meanwhile, South African under 21 captain Clyde Rathbone has quit to play for the Brumbies in Australia. Speculation has been rife that Rathbone, whose father is Australian, would make the move across the Indian Ocean.

He captained the ”Baby Boks” which recently won the World Cup under 21 tournament in June. – Sapa
