South African budget airline kulula.com on Tuesday ushered in its new fleet of three 737-400s, replacing its old fleet of 727s.
Apart from being extremely quiet, the new planes offer bigger overhead storage space, said Gidon Novick, kulula.com’s Executive Manager Marketing. The aircraft are maintenance friendly and fuel-efficient, the company said.
The new design for the fleet is bright and funky — painted in bright greens and blues and sporting a logo that covers a third of the plane’s body.
The R750-million investment was financed through an operating lease with SAFAIR. – I-Net Bridge
