To read the menu, click once. To place your order, click twice. Computers have replaced waiters at a restaurant in the western Indian city of Pune, a news report said on Friday.
Each of the 48 tables at Suyash, a restaurant serving only vegetarian food, has a computer, the Indian Express newspaper reported.
Click the mouse and choose from instructions in English or the local Marathi language. What follows is an elaborate menu, giving details of recipes, ingredients and even the time it will take for your piping hot meal to be served.
The order placed, you can play computer games, browse through a map of the city, read a listing to local cultural events or get the latest update from the stock market, the report said. The restaurant, which opened on Thursday, even offers headphones to those who would rather listen to music while they wait for their
food to arrive.
And if you liked your meal, click again. You can take home a printout of your favourite recipe ”at no extra cost”, said co-owner Gajanan Phadke. – Sapa-DPA
