DaimlerChrysler South Africa has launched a sexy new version of the popular Jeep Cherokee.
The Cherokee Red River Edition features a high-gloss graphite painted grille and front and rear fascias and “bolted-on” wheel flares. Fog lamps and 16-inch graphite painted six-spoke cast aluminium wheels complete the external styling changes.
Inside, there’s a combination of flat woven cloth and leather upholstery,
with a seat-back map pocket for added storage. The steering wheel is
wrapped in leather, while speed control comes standard on the vehicle. Multi-function, steering wheel mounted controls for the CD audio system further differentiate the Red River Edition from other Jeep Cherokee Sport derivatives.
The 2003 Jeep Cherokee Red River Edition is available in V6 petrol guise only, with four-speed automatic transmission. Only 120 will be sold in this country, at a price of R291 100.
