‘Hell hath no fury like a woman scored on’

Jennifer Capriati and Serena Williams have added their marketing muscle to a new WTA Tour campaign to raise the profile of the women’s game.

The pair of Wimbledon seeds are among a handful of players including Venus Williams, Kim Clijsters, Justine Henin-Hardenne, Lindsay Davenport, Anna Kournikova and Monica Seles featured in the new ”Get in touch with your feminine side” print and television campaign launched on the eve of the championships.

The marketing effort is designed to help tournaments promote themselves and is making its debut this week with four London billboards.

Capriati is a big fan: ”I like it. It’s something new and fresh and cute, and it will draw attention. It shows that strength can be feminine.”

Some of the sub-slogans for the effort, which shows women players up close in the heat of battle include: ”Some things need a woman’s touch,” ”Serves that travel faster than gossip” and ”Hell hath no fury like a woman scored on.” – Sapa-DPA
