Jacques Kallis, the South African Test cricketer, and his sister Janine released a statement on Thursday after their father died of cancer in Cape Town.
”We are obviously both heartbroken at the loss of our Dad. It has been very hectic since yesterday morning, yet we have found a lot of time to reminisce and are thankful for these fantastic memories. We are proud to recall a Dad who dedicated his whole life to us, thereby fulfilling the promise he made to our Mom,” said the statement.
”He was a tower of strength in our family and it will be with pride that we shall try to emulate the many lessons he taught us and pass them on in time to children of our own.
”Knowing that Mom and Dad are together again is a great comfort to us. We would like to thank everyone for their support.”
