Omar appoints new SA civil aviation chief

South African Transport Minister Dullah Omar has announced the appointment of Sebosesco Machobane as the new commissioner for the Civil Aviation Authority on contract from October 1 to March next year.

According to government news agency, BuaNews, Omar said that Machobane brought with him 28 years experience in aviation. He holds degrees in aeronautical, aviation and industrial safety, air traffic control and also holds flight qualifications.

Machobane previously worked for the Lesotho Department of Aviation, the Lesotho Airways Corporation, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, and the Central Missouri State University in the US.

Machobane replaces Trevor Abrahams who has been acting commissioner since

July this year. Abrahams’s contract ended on September 30, the agency reported. – I-Net Bridge
