A Kaizer Chiefs striker has been arrested on charges of tampering with telephone lines at his home in the south of Johannesburg, police said on Thursday.
Superintendent Lungelo Dlamini said Kabamba Musasa (22) was arrested with Bubu Shiboko Emmanuel (27) at their Camptonville townhouse on Wednesday.
The two were arrested after Telkom officers followed up on a telephone line that they suspected was illegally used. The line led them to the house where Musasa and his friend stayed.
Dlamini said the line was connected to the house.
The Telkom officers then called the police, who later arrested the two. They were detained at the Mondeor police station.
The two appeared in the Booysens Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, and their case was postponed to December 12, Lungelo said.
He said they were facing charges of contravening Section 107 of the 1959 Post Office Act. Musasa is from the Democratic Republic of Congo. — Sapa
