Buying and selling cars the fun way

WesBank have come up with a concept that will allow people to test drive, finance and buy a used or new car on the same day at the same venue. The first event will take place at WesBank Raceway in Germiston on Sunday 7 December.

Any individual with a car to sell can pay R20 to display it alongside others in its price range, and buyers can cough up R20 for a track-time voucher that will allow them to test drive each of the vehicles on their short-list. Dealers and auctioneers will also be showing their wares with Burchmore’s Auctioneers holding an auction from 12pm – 1pm on the day. The cars will be on view on Friday 5 December from 10am to 4pm, and Wesbank will be on site to arrange finance.

There’ll be lots more happening than just money and cars changing hands. The IASCA National Championship Sound-Off will be taking place on the SASCAR oval and interested parties can check out the latest in sound systems. The gates open at 9am for cars going on display, and 10am for the public. Admission is free. The day’s activities will include live music, slot car racing and kiddies’ entertainment such as quad rides. To round off the day with some real excitement the Illegal 2 Legal Street Drag Racing Series kicks off at 4pm. Entrance from 2pm onwards is R30 per car of up to 5 people, or R50 for cars carrying more.
