The Spar South African Women’s hockey team continued their winning ways on Thursday, beating Spain 1-0 in the second match of the Four Nations Tournament in Athens.
Striker Jennifer Wilson scored the winning goal. South Africa’s victory put the team at the top of the log, and sure of a place in the final on Sunday.
In the other match, Australia and Great Britain drew two-all. South Africa beat Great Britain 3-1 on Wednesday, while Spain beat tournament favourites Australia 1-0.
South Africa take on Australia on Saturday, with Spain and Great Britain playing the other match.
Australia, the defending Olympic Gold Medallists, visit South Africa next week for the four-Test Spar Challenge Series in Johannesburg and Pretoria. — Sapa
