Llewellyn Herbert, the South African record holder in the 400m hurdles, recorded an easy victory in an indoor race over 300m hurdles at an international meeting in Finland on Saturday.
His winning time of 35,68 seconds was a second faster than the runner-up.
Herbert set a world indoor best time of 34,92 seconds for the same event in Finland in 1999.
Heli Koivula-Kruger, wife of the South African discus star Frantz Kruger, was beaten by 1cm in the women’s triple jump.
Koivula-Kruger jumped 14,07m behind another Finnish athlete, Natalia Kilpelainen (14,08). — Sapa
