British Airways wins best domestic airline award

British Airways, which is operated by Comair, has won the award for the best domestic airline in South Africa for the fourth time, the airline said on Wednesday.

The Association of Travel Agents of South Africa (ASATA) has been making the award for the past 14 years.

Comair managing director Piet van Hoven said in a statement that British Airways was pleased.

It is the fourth time in five years that British Airways has received the award — last year it went to Kulula.com.

”We are truly honoured to have received this award for the fourth time in five years and I would like to thank all our friends in the travel industry that selected us as their airline of choice,” Van Hoven said.

He said he believed a major factor was the commitment to service excellence within the workforce.

Comair has been a part of the Proudly South African campaign since October last year, he added.

This emphasised its commitment to the local market. Comair’s first local flight in the well-known British Airways livery took place on October 27, 1996.” – Sapa
