The finalists of the 2004 Businesswoman of the Year Award were announced by the Businesswomen’s Association (BWA) late on Wednesday night. This year’s candidates represent the hospitality, financial services, IT and advertising industries.
The 2004 finalists are: Ingrid Diesel, resort general manager & CEO pf the Fancourt Hotel & Country Club Estate; Sindi Mabaso, chief financial officer of Transnet; Futhi Mtoba, deputy chairperson of Deloitte; Ann Nurock, CEO of Grey Worldwide South Africa; and Suzanne Ravenall, CEO of IDCS Beyond Outsourcing.
The award, which is sponsored by Nedbank, is now in its 25th year and recognises the success of women in business and celebrates their contribution to the economy and future generations of businesswomen.
“The 2004 finalists represent different industries, but they have a great deal in common. All have excelled in business and they are a remarkable group of entrepreneurial and professional women,” said BWA president Dr Namane Magau.
Previous winners of the award include Nicky Newton-King of the JSE Securities Exchange, Kim McFarland of Investec Asset Management, Maria Ramos when she was with the department of finance and Irene Charnley of Johnnic Holdings.
