The Development Bank of Southern Africa’s (DBSA) chief financial officer, Abdul-Kader Mohamed, has been appointed the chief operating officer of broadcast signal distributor Sentech.
The appointment was among several approved at Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting in Pretoria, a statement read.
Mohamed has been at the helm of the DBSA’s finances since May last year and was previously a financial manager for Sanlam.
The Cabinet also approved the appointment of Motshoanetsi Lefoka to the position of chief operating officer of the South African Post Office.
Lefoka, currently acting in the position, was previously the organisation’s senior general manager. She is also a former chief director of strategic management in the Department of Public Works.
Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting approved the extension of the term of office of Director General of Environmental Affairs and Tourism Crispian Olver by one year and that of Director General of Correctional Services Linda Mti by three years.
Nomazizi Mtshotshisa was reappointed for one year as chairperson of the Telkom board.
Three appointments were made to the board of Armscor, three to the board of the Central Energy Fund, six to the board of Petro SA and two to the board of the Road Accident Fund, the Cabinet statement said. — Sapa
