Orlando Pirates are confident of beating Sable de Batie of Cameroon during the Confederation Cup in Yaounde on Sunday.
Pirates beat Sable 4-2 during the first leg match played at Harry Oppenheimer Stadium in Orkney two weeks ago.
However, the South African football giants will be without four influential players due to various reasons. The players who did not accompany Bucs to the West African country are Edelbert Dinha, Benedict Vilakazi, Steve Lekoelea and
Jimmy Tau.
Caretaker coach Augusto Palacios is confident that the players who are in Cameroon will make the whole of South Africa proud by winning the match.
”We have been training hard since our arrival here in Cameroon on Thursday and everybody is looking forward to Sunday’s game.
”Our approach will be to go for an early lead to unsettle Sable,” said Palacios, who will be on the senior team’s bench for the last time.
This follows this week’s announcement by Pirates chairperson Irvin Khoza that Kosta Papic of Yugoslavia will be the new coach.
Pirates need a draw to advance to the quaterfinals of this tournament which carries a total prize money of over R3-million. – Sapa
