Silver Stars warn Ajax

Silver Stars have warned Ajax Cape Town to brace themselves for yet another embarrassing defeat in less than a week when they meet at Newlands Stadium on Saturday.

This comes after Ajax were handed a 6-0 humiliating defeat by Orlando Pirates at Ellis Park Stadium on Wednesday.

The victory saw Pirates shooting to the top of the Castle Premiership table. It was the biggest victory registered by a club this season.

”I saw their match against Pirates, they looked disorganised for the better part of the game,” said Stars general manager Thamaga Mokgopi.

”Ajax must not expect any mercy from us, we are also going to be ruthless because we need maximum points to improve our position on the log.

”Our main aim is to finish the season well inside the top eight bracket in order to qualify for the SAA Supa 8 Cup next season,” said Mokgopi.

In another Premiership match taking place on Saturday, Jomo Cosmos are hoping to register their first victory of the season at the expense of Bush Bucks at Rand Stadium.

Cosmos played to a goalless draw with Wits University in a midweek match at Bidvest Stadium, while Bucks were hammered 3-0 by Mamelodi Sundowns in East London.

Four matches will be played on Sunday. The biggest fixture will be the Soweto derby featuring Pirates and Moroka Swallows at Rand Stadium.

Swallows are still reeling from a 1-0 defeat by Chiefs during the SAA Supa 8 semifinal in Durban last Sunday.

Sundowns welcome Dynamos at Securicor Loftus Stadium in Pretoria. Dynamos owner Pat Malabela said they were determined to bring Sundowns down to earth.

”It will be a tough one but I have no doubt that we will pocket the three points at stake, we have a pretty good record against Sundowns,” said Malabela.

In Durban, Lamontville Golden Arrows enetertain Wits University at King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, while Bloemfontein Celtic tackle inconsistent Manning Rangers ar Seisa Ramabodu Stadium in Mangaung.
