Graeme Smith dreams of county cricket

Graeme Smith, South African cricket captain, confirmed on Wednesday that he was negotiating a contract to play for the English county side in Somerset in 2005.

Smith said that he was still waiting for approval from United Cricket Board’s CEO Gerald Majola. He said that if he were granted permission he would go to Somerset after the South African tour to the West Indies.

”One always dreams of playing County cricket,” he said.

”I think it will help me to learn about playing in different conditions. I also think that captaining the county side will help me in my captaincy of South Africa.” – Sapa
