Manning Rangers beat Silver Stars 2-1 in a Castle Premiership encounter played at Chatsworth Stadium on Wednesday night.
There was no score at interval.
Stars were the first to get a scoring chance when Tsepo Kamokala’s well-taken free-kick hit the upright, with Rangers goalie John Tlale beaten hands down.
The home side pushed forward at the beginning of second half in search of a goal. Their efforts were rewarded in the 57th minute when Alton Meiring converted Sanele Majola’s cross.
Siyabonga Siphika increased the lead three minutes later when he scored from the rebound — this after Robin Edom’s powerful kick was blocked by the Stars defence.
Stars reduced the deficit in the 74th minute when Francis Kombe scored.
This was Rangers’ first win under their caretaker coach, Ian Palmer, who joined the Durban outfit a couple of weeks ago. — Sapa
