Man arrested after filming sex with boys

A 62-year-old Sunninghill man — accused of sodomising and filming three Diepsloot boys — was arrested on Wednesday evening in a police trap, detectives said on Thursday.

Pretoria police spokesperson Captain Piletji Sebola said the man was arrested on the old Muldersdrift Road by members of the family violence and sexual offences unit at 6.45pm.

He said the man had been in the company of a 16-year-old boy. The boy was a grade eight pupil from a school in Diepsloot, south of Pretoria.

”The boy was used to trap the suspect after he reported the matter to police, accompanied by the school principal earlier in the day,” Piletji said.

Piletji said it was alleged that man had, on several occasions, picked up boys from outside Diepsloot and then taken them to his home where he ordered them to have sex. The man would allegedly then record the acts with a video camera and pay the boys R180, he said.

”But if the man took them to an open veld where he allegedly sodomised them in his car, he would only pay them R50,” Sebola said.

He said police had searched the car and found condoms, tablets and video tapes.

”Police are still trying to find two other boys who were allegedly involved in the abuse,” he said.

The man would appear in court soon on charges of indecent assault. – Sapa
