South Africa prop Heinrich Kok has been snapped up by Bath for the rest of the season as cover for a depleted front row.
Props David Flatman, Matt Stevens and Christian Loader are all sidelined, which prompted the move for 30-year-old Kok.
He will start training with the English Premiership club on Wednesday, and should be available for the 10 500 sell-out match against Recreation Ground visitors London Irish on Sunday.
Kok helped the Lions secure semifinal status during this season’s Currie Cup competition in South Africa, and has also played Super 12 rugby.
”The Premiership is extremely competitive these days, and scrummaging is a key part of the game in the unforgiving environment that is front-row play,” said Bath rugby director Jack Rowell.
”Heinrich arrives to provide cover to the squad, which is currently impinged upon by an injury blight in the front-row.” – AFP
