Ajax disappointed with draw

Wits University played to a goaless draw against Ajax Cape Town in a Castle Premiership match at the Bidvest Stadium on Wednesday night.

Ajax CT missed an opportunity to advance to the fourth position of the premiership log table when they failed to beat the hosts.

It was clear that the night did not belong to Ajax as Wits had more opporunities to score.

Wits University’s Charles Yohanne failed to score in the 28th minute after a cross from Alois Binjura. But the most notable opportunity for the home side was squandered by substitute Gareth Devine in the 85th minute after his shot was saved by goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs.

Ajax coach Gordon Igesund made several substitutions but could not change the complexion of the game.

Referee Daniel Bennet cautioned Brent Carelse and Charles Yohanne for rough play. – Sapa
