Santos beat Rangers

Chatsworth-based Manning Rangers had a real baptism of fire when they were comprehensively beaten 4-1 by Santos in a Castle Premiership game in front of a poor crowd at Kings Park Soccer Stadium on Wednesday night.

Half-time score was 2-1.

The visitors from Cape Town scored their first goal through Thembile Kanono 37 minutes into the game.

Two minutes later, Rangers scored an equaliser via Edson Minga after he connected a square ball from Alton Meiring.

A minute before half-time, Thokozani Xaba increase the tally when he headed a high ball from Ricardo Manneti.

The home side introduced Welcome Mazibuko for Frank Makua in the 60th minute.

A minute later, Santos replaced Xaba for Carlos Scott.

After this change, Santos put more pressure on Rangers, which resulted in scoring two quick goals through Reuben Cloete and Jason Lakay in the 62nd and 64th minutes respectively. — Sapa
