Swallows fly high

Cecil Orsen was a welcome newcomer when he helped Moroka Swallows to beat Jomo Cosmos 2-1 in their Premier Soccer League match at the Herman Immelman Stadium in Germiston on Sunday.

Orsen, who joined Swallows from Bloemfontein Celtic at the beginning of the season, scored a brace to give Swallows a much-needed win after suffering consecutive defeats from Bush Bucks and Kaizer Chiefs recently.

Orsen broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute after collecting a pass from Innocent Chikoya and completed his brace 11 minutes later.

Cosmos responded in the 38th minute through Chris Katongo to give the visitors a reason a smile.

The result put Swallows third on the log with 21 points, just behind Pirates and Sundowns.

Cosmos’ momentum was disrupted in the face of Jomo Sono demanding that he wanted nine points before the Christmas break. — Sapa
