Halle Berry, George Bush vie for bad movie awards

Actress Halle Berry has some tough competition if she wants the dubious honour of dominating the Razzie Awards for the year’s worst performances in the movies.

Also nominated was United States President George Bush for worst actor for his unwitting role in the film Fahrenheit 9/11 along with Secretary of State-designate Condoleezza Rice and Secretary of Defence Donald Rumsfeld.

Berry’s Catwoman earned seven nominations for the 25th annual Razzies, closely followed by Oliver Stone’s Alexander with six, including Colin Farrel as worst actor, Angelina Jolie as worst actress, worst film and worst director.

Other worst actors included Ben Affleck, Vin Diesel and Ben Stiller, while the worst actress nominees included Hilary Duff, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and Shawn and Marlon Wayans, who played federal agents in drag in White Chicks.

The Razzies will be awarded on February 26, one day before the Oscars, by the Golden Raspberry Foundation. – Sapa-DPA
