Photos of naked children found at advocates’ home

Pictures of naked children, footage of bestiality and the so-called date-rape drug Rohypnol were among items found at the home of an advocate pair facing an array of sexual assault charges, the Pretoria High Court heard on Wednesday.

Captain Carel Cornelius, the original investigating officer in the case of Cezanne Visser and Dirk Prinsloo, told the court ”a large quantity” of pornographic videos were found in several rooms of their Raslouw, Pretoria, house during a police search.

In the main bedroom, investigators found pornographic magazines ”exhibited” all over. They were opened on pages depicting explicit sex scenes.

In the bedroom, police found different medicines, including Rohypnol. They also seized 12,2g of dagga.

Two of the complainants in the case, a minor girl and a woman, claim they were raped after being given a sedative by the pair.

Cornelius said a red album containing about 300 pornographic photos was found in a cupboard in the bedroom — including 12 pictures of Visser and two minor girls in sexual scenes.

The photos depicted private parts, and one showed one of the girls performing oral sex on a man.

Prinsloo did not want police searching the house to page through the album, Cornelius testified.

Police also seized a briefcase containing six videos of bestiality, which Prinsloo insisted did not belong to him. He told investigators to ”check the dust on the briefcase”, the police officer said.

Cornelius was the first witness to the called in the trial, which kicked off on Tuesday — more than two years after the couple was first arrested.

He was, at the time, attached to the child protection unit and was involved in the pair’s arrest in December 2002.

Visser, dubbed ”Advocate Barbie” for an apparent likeness to the busty, blonde plastic doll, faces 15 charges and her boyfriend 16. They are out on bail of R4 000 each.

They stand accused of raping a child and a woman on different occasions.

There are three charges of soliciting a 15-year-old girl to commit indecent acts on different occasions. In the alternative, they are charged with exposing themselves to the girl and/or performing sexual acts in front of her and/or showing her pornographic material.

The couple is also charged with paying another minor to perform a variety of sexual acts — including having intercourse with Prinsloo.

There are four counts of indecent assault — two of them involving an 11-year-old girl and the others two different women.

It is alleged they had shown the child pornographic films, exposed themselves to her, and had sexual intercourse and performed other sexual acts in front of her. They also allegedly forced her to walk around naked at their home.

The state alleges the couple committed fraud by pretending to be married for the purposes of obtaining temporary supervision over minors from a children’s home, in order to abuse them.

Other charges include one of possessing child pornography, two of manufacturing such materials, and one of possessing dagga.

Prinsloo is furthermore charged with assaulting a complainant in one of the indecent assault charges — a former employee of the pair. — Sapa
