Arrows sink further after loss to Wits

Golden Arrows compounded their problems even further after losing 1-2 to Wits University in a Castle Premier Soccer League match played at the Bidvest Stadium on Saturday night.

Wits led 1-0 at the break.

Despite recently appointing Khabo Zondo as their head coach, Arrows are still languishing near the bottom of the log and they clearly still have a lot of work to do if they are to steer away from relegation.

Nkosana Qaba puts Wits ahead in the 29th minute through a header from Anton Greyling’s free kick.

Justice Sithole levelled matters for Arrows in the 67th minute after collecting a Mabhuti Khanyeza cross.

But the visitors’ celebrations were quickly halted just two minutes later when Sydney Nkalanga put Wits back in the lead just two minutes later.

Mlungisi Gumbi came close to equalising five minutes from the end but his shot hit the upright. – Sapa
