SA to host African govts at ICT summit in April

South Africa will in April play host to the ICT in Government summit, industry research house and event organisers ForgeAhead announced on Friday.

The summit will be attended by various African government leaders, decision-makers and representatives of the information and communications technology (ICT) industry.

ForgeAhead’s Pierre Venter — one of the speakers — will deliver a paper on government ICT trends in Africa while South Africa’s Communications Director-General Lyndall Shope-Mafole will touch on telecommunications policy and legal framework.

Parallel sector workshops will focus on agriculture, education, health, home affairs, justice, local government, minerals and energy, revenue collection and policies, social development and transport sectors.

ICT companies operating in South Africa and government representatives from across the continent conducting these workshops will also discuss their technology strategies, challenges and successes. – I-Net Bridge
